Radio
My professional radio experience started with Roger Plummer on WYLL AM 1160 as an intern working on that station and a sister station 106.7 FM The Fish, Chicago. Roger Plummer taught me some real life radio lessons which I did not get from prior experience (from in-house mock radio station broadcasting to no more than 10 people) and it has carried me far in my radio career. My sting with Roger Plummer on the WYLL Morning Ministries is one of the greatest things to happen to me in life. I proposed a show - African Rhythms to WNUR 89.3 FM Chicago (the largest student run radio in the US) while at Northwestern University and to this day African Rhythms is a regular show on WNUR and the number one African Show in Chicago. I produced and co-hosted the show for about 2 years before moving from Chicago to New York city. I believe my greatest mile stone so far in my radio career happened when African Rhythms show introduced Africa's only Grammy Winning Traditional Group Ladysmith Black Mambazo at their 2005 Chicago performance. It was a blessing to meet Ladysmith Black Mambazo since they are one my favorite all time groups.
